BREWER and JONESPORT -Gordon M. Crowley, 88, husband of Julia (Drisko) Crowley, died Feb. 19, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare center. He was born May 9, 1916, in Bath, the son of Colon and Angie (Barter) Crowley. Gordon was a 1937 graduate of Addison High School and worked for Mansfield farm for three years. During World War II, he worked at the Portland shipyard and later drove trucks for Kirby Lobster Co,. and Look’s Lobster Co. Gordon was employed as a delivery driver and serviceman for H.G. Tucker Oil, Cherryfield, for 20 years and retired from Dead River Oil after eight years. He was a member of the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, Jonesport prior to moving to Brewer where he joined the Second Congregational Church. He was active and enjoyed the F.M.C.O singing group, the Brewer Senior Citizens, and playing bridge. Surviving in addition to his wife of Brewer, is one daughter, Cynthia C. Sirois Harvey and her husband, Harold Harvey of Brewer; three stepgrandchildren, Alan Harvey, Holly Littlefield and her husband, Gary, Lori Peck and her husband, Doug; four great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren; one brother-in-law, Reginald Gray of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the Second Congregational Church, South Main Street, Brewer, with the Rev. Scott Cleveland, pastor, officiating. A reception will immediately follow. Burial will be at Indian River Cemetery, Jonesport, in the spring.
