BLAINE – Mrs. Grace E. Rideout, 80, went home to be with her Lord Feb. 28, 2008, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Blaine, the daughter of Donald B. and Dorothy Fern (Caldwell) Kinney. She attended Full Gospel Assembly, Mars Hill. She was a member, past treasurer and assistant treasurer of Mars Hill, Blaine and Westfield Senior Citizens and member of Golden Girls and Widows Club. She was a volunteer with The Aroostook Medical Center, receiving the Lennie Archer Memorial Volunteer Award of 2006 and enjoyed calling Bingo for her friends and patients. One of Grace’s highlights was her 80th birthday last September. All of her eight children were able to attend and she celebrated with a horse and carriage ride through town, a four-wheeler ride up Mars Hill Mountain and a party at Mars Hill Manor. Grace was a devoted mother of four sons, Arroll W. Rideout Jr. and wife, Susan, of Mars Hill, Donald K. Rideout and wife, Connie, of Westfield, Wilmont “Willie” “Bill” E. Rideout and wife, Sharon, of Scranton, Pa., and Barry W. Rideout of Fairbanks, Alaska; four daughters, Dixie L. Grass and husband, Brian, of San Antonio, Deborah J. Rideout of Crouseville, Patsy L. Rideout of Caribou and Penny L. Rideout of Mars Hill. Grace also loved her 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Eliza Lint of Stetson; sisters-in-law, Elva Wilson of Mars Hill, Gayle Rideout of Michigan and Clara Kinney of Blaine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert and Rosalie Craig of Mars Hill; many nieces, nephews and friends. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Arroll “Jiggs” Wilmont Rideout Sr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Full Gospel Assembly, Mars Hill. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Full Gospel Assembly with the Rev. Richard Bell and Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Spring internment will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill.
