LINCOLN – Grace Morrison Greene died April 18, 2006, at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln. She was born July 13, 1914, in Millinocket, the daughter of Daniel and Clara (Russell) Morrison and the wife of Harold W. Greene, who predeceased her in 1962. She was a graduate of Stearns High School and Castine Normal School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Maine at Orono. She taught school in Lincoln for 30 years. She was a dedicated educator who thoroughly enjoyed her profession and her students. She carried many fond memories of her years spent in her classroom. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Lincoln, the Pilgrim Daughters, the Harmony Club, a life-member of Eastern Star Chapter 112 and the State and National Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and David Buck of Lincoln; her two beloved granddaughters, Kimberly and her husband, Loren Russell, of Pittsfield and Johanna Buck of Brownville; six great-grandchildren, Mary Anna Lambert, Donald and Brenna Russell and James, Meghan, and Paige Grace McGuinness; two brothers and their wives, Frederick and his wife, Leatha and Richard and his wife, Lucille, all of Millinocket; two sisters, Ethel Cianchette of Pittsfield and Violet Neal of Millinocket; many special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Hers was a close knit family that was always there for each other, not just as family but best friends as well. She will also be fondly remembered by a very special honorary daughter, her other Dianne, Dianne Heaven, the daughter of one of her very dearest friends. A special granddaughter, Kazuko Akiyama, of Mito, Japan, will have fond memories of her American Nana. She was predeceased by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Hazel and Roderick and Rosella; three sisters, Marguerite and husband, Raymond Doanne, Geraldine and husband, Jozef Tara, Elenor and husband, Charles Horne; and brother-in-law, John Neal; a great-granddaughter, Angel W. Russell of Pittsfield. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
