LINCOLN – Grace R. Pete, 90, wife of the late Dennis Pete, passed away April 1, 2008, at Colonial Health Care Facility, Lincoln. She was born Jan. 11, 1918, in Lee, the daughter of Ruth (Merrill) Rich and Ray Rich. Grace graduated from Lee Academy and Eastern Maine Academy of Cosmetology, Bangor. She owned and operated Grace’s Beauty Shop for 51 years. Grace was a member of Congregational Church of Lincoln, Pilgrim Daughters, Ivaloo Rebecca Lodge and Lincoln Business and Professional Women’s Club. Grace and her husband took many vacation trips, and entertained friends and relatives at their cottage on Silver Lake. She loved sewing, knitting, cooking and taking care of her flower garden. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grand-children, and was always there for her family when needed. She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline R. Michaud of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Lorna Lyons and her husband, Peter, and Stephen R. Michaud and his wife, Jennifer, of Lincoln; three great-grandchildren, Adrienne Lyons, Nathan Lyons and Camryn Lyons, all of Lincoln; three nieces, Carla Lovely and her husband, Thurber, of Lincoln, Sally Edwards of Agawam, Mass., and Cynthia Maas and her husband, Art, of Mattawamkeag; and two nephews, David Rich and his wife, Debbie, of Lincoln and Frederick Howe and his wife, Diane, of Falmouth. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dennis, she was predeceased by a sister, Genevieve Howe of Lincoln; three brothers, Duane Rich of California, Burton Rich of Lee and Raymond Rich of Lincoln; and a nephew, Richard Rich of Lincoln. Grace’s family thanks everyone at Colonial Health Care for all the support and loving care given to Grace. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at Lincoln Cemetery.
