PENSACOLA, Fla. and ELLSWORTH – Gregory “Greg” A. Holt, 38, died unexpectedly July 14, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1967, in Ellsworth, the son of Arthur S. and Linda (Herrick) Holt. Greg graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1985. He was a very personable and outgoing person, loved by all that knew him. Greg was an avid bass fisherman competing on the national circuit. He shared his love of drag racing from an early age at the family track in Winterport. Greg excelled as a business owner receiving recognition at International competitions of his trade. He is survived by his loving wife, Angela (Atwater) Holt of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Madison O. of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Heather Mae Holt and son, Nicholas G. Holt, both of Ellsworth; his father, Arthur (Cappy) Holt and wife, Tamara, of Ellsworth; brothers, Chris S. Holt of Ellsworth, Charles “Chuck” S. Holt and wife, Christina, of Alexandria, Va.; three nieces, Emma, Sophia and Greta; sister, Devin Getchell of Ellsworth; also special friends, Robert Merchant, Greg Small, Patrick Downey and William Fennelly. Greg was predeceased by his mother, Linda (Herrick) Holt. Friends may visit with the family 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lamoine with Pastor John Holt officiating. The family suggests that if friends desire, they may make contributions to a college fund for Greg’s children in care of Chris Holt, P.O. Box 1081, Ellsworth, ME 04605 payable to Holts Children College Fund.
