WASHBURN – Gregory O. Drake Sr., 54, died unexpectedly, April 14, 2006, at Presque Isle. He was born June 11, 1951, at Caribou. He was educated in the Washburn school system and was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Gregory was employed with Chandler Farms Inc. for 26 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, where the outdoors was his second home. Gregory’s nickname to many was “Mr. Fix-It.” He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. (Theriault) Drake of Washburn; two sons, Gregory O. Drake Jr. and his wife, Bobby, and Brian C. Drake, all of Washburn; two daughters, Myrtle L. Shanahan and her husband, Jason, of Groversville, N.Y. and Denise L. Conroy and her husband, Douglas, of Washburn; and four granddaughters. Friends may call 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20, until time of services, which will be held 7 p.m. at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Cemetery.
