BEALS – Harleigh A. Alley, 63, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born March 20, 1941, in Beals the son of Solomon M. and Ruth L. (Norton) Alley. Harleigh was a member of the Beals Advent Christian Church, and served his community in various capacities. In addition to his mother, he is survived by “his beautiful wife” of 43 years, Irena M. (Alley) Alley of Beals; six children, Debbie Kelley and her husband, Darrell, of Beals, Warren Alley and his partner, Gordon Young, of Brooklyn, New York, Loudell Alley and her husband, Mark, of Holden, Crystal Nichols and her husband, Jamie, of Fayette, and Tammy Norton and Amileigh Alley of Columbia; five grandchildren, Kenneth Kelley and his fianc?e, Jenna Alley, of Beals, Marileigh Elisabeth Alley of Holden, Rianna Lynn Norton of Columbia, Karissa Skye and Jazel Leigh-Anne Nichols of Fayette; a sister, Rita Norton of Eastport; two sisters-in-law, Janie Frenette and her husband, Dennis, and Sharon Alley and her husband, Dennis, all of Beals; a special niece, Belinda Smith of Jonesboro; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Harleigh was predeceased by his father; and a grandson, Timothy Daniel Alley. Harleigh will be remembered for his strong faith, positive attitude, and his ability to make people feel as if they were the “most important person in the world”. Friends are invited to visit with the family 3-9 p.m. Monday at the Beals Wesleyan Church, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22. Spring interment will be at Great Wass Cemetery, Beals. Gifts in memory of Harleigh may be sent to Sunrise Health Care Facility, Jonesport, ME 04649, or to the charity of one’s choice.
