LEVANT – Harold E. King, 82, husband of the late Sybil (Rines) King, lost his battle with cancer, April 10, 2008. He was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Perham, the son of Eugene and Dora (Johnson) King. Harold was employed by M. L. Coffin for more than 40 years. He enjoyed his newspaper, his wood shop, building things for his family and visiting with his family at the yearly family gatherings. Survivors include a son, Robert King and his wife, Annie, of Levant; stepson, Richard Rines and his wife, Marie, of Newington, N.H.; daughter, Doris Alley of Ellsworth; and daughter, Betty Goodwin and her husband, Roy, of Brewer; a brother, Cyrus King and his wife, Allie, of Lincoln; a special cousin, Jerry Wilson of Newport; 16 special grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; a stepson, Rodney Rines; a son-in-law, Louis Alley; and a grandson, Roy Goodwin III. Harold’s family gives a special thanks to the 5th floor nurses and doctors at St. Joseph Hospital for their unending care and concern. Family and friends are invited to visit 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Waugh Cemetery, Route 222, Levant, with family friend and evangelist, Almon Emerson, presiding.
