SANFORD and ADDISON Harold “JR” Ray Merritt Jr., 66, died Dec. 24, 2007, at a Portland hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Addison, the son of Harold and Dorothy (Farnsworth) Merritt Sr. JR loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping. He achieved his degree as an ordain minister. He is survived by three children, Wayne Merritt of Rochester, N.H., Karen Brunelas of New Hampshire and Kevin Merritt of Addison; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marion Martell of New Hampshire, Evelyn Merritt of Sanford and Belinda Davis of Gray; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Richard Merritt Sr.; and a sister, Donna Leach. In keeping with his request interment will be at Wescoguf Cemetery, Addison.
