CORINNA – Harold L. Parker, 81, is now driving his Allis Chalmers tractor on the streets of gold, after a short battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Dec. 6, 2006. He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Corinna, a son of Lawrence and Linnie (Brown) Parker. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was at the Battle of the Bulge, Germany. He married the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, the former Lurene M. Bryson. Harold was a dairy farmer and raised two daughters, Cheryl and Coleen. Harold was a member of the Morses Corner Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He retired from Dexter Shoe Co. Harold and Lurene enjoyed many years spending winters in Florida, then returning to their home in Maine for the summer. He loved to work in his shop, making furniture and toys for his family, tinkering on his tractors and fixing almost anything that was broken for anyone. He will be sadly missed by wife, Lurene; daughters, Cheryl Parker and Coleen Swan and husband, Danny; a sister, Marilyn Conway; grand-daughters, Stacey Benge, Suz-anne Graves and husband, Dale, and Stephanie Swan; grandsons, Craig and Marc Boyington and Sebadino Parker; great-grandsons, John and Alex Benge, Noah and Tyler Swan and Garett Graves. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Muriel Smith; and an infant son, Harold Parker Jr. Family visiting hours and graveside committal services will be held Saturday, Dec. 9. Burial will be at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
