KITTERY – Harold M. Stoddard, 80, of Ash Lane, Kittery, died March 3, 2006, at York Hospital. Born July 21, 1925, in Mapleton, he attended local schools, graduating from Washburn High School. Following high school he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He and his loving wife of 32 years made their home for many years in Auburn, Mass. During their time in Auburn he was employed for 38 years at Norton Company, retiring as plant manager of plant eight. Following his retirement he enjoyed home in York in the summer for many years and in Florida during the winter. He also met and married his wife of 20 years, Mary “Bernie” Stoddard. Together they made their home in York, attending St. Christopher’s Church. They continued to winter in Florida. Harold was a long time member of alcoholic anonymous and enjoyed helping new members in the program. He enjoyed membership as a 32 degree Mason in Auburn, Mass. He was active as a coach in youth baseball when his son was growing up and was instrumental in the building of Franklin Field in Auburn. He is survived by his loving family, a son, Jay Stoddard and his wife, Marcia, of Jamestown, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Ann Mooney of Ipswich, Mass. and Jennifer Bolduc of Sterling, Mass.; grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Allison and Aaron Stoddard; a brother, Paul Stoddard and his wife, Ann; a sister, Patricia Grant, both of Presque Isle; and a daughter-in-law, Denise Stoddard and her dear friend, Pat McIssac. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn in 1982; and his wife, Bernie in 2004; and his son, Harold Stoddard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, at his church, St. Christopher Church, in York, with a time of sharing to follow in the church parish hall.
