TROY – Harold “Phil” Jewett, 74, died April 19, 2005, at his Troy residence after several long illnesses. He was born Aug. 9, 1930 in Bath, the son of Stanley H. and Clara Greta (Mitton) Jewett Sr. Harold was retired from the U.S. Air Force serving from 1951 to 1971. He served abroad in Germany and two tours in Vietnam. His service career also took Phil and his family to Guam, Oklahoma, California, and he retired at Limestone. He was predeceased by his second wife, Doris Loubier Jewett in May of 2000; his brother, Stanley Jr.; and his sister, Evelyn Tardy. He is survived by his first wife, who he remarried in 2001, Florence Cates Jewett of Troy; four daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Ron Nason of Burnham, Candace and Bill Ryan of Morristown N.J., Rebecca and Patrick Sullivan of Jupiter, Fla., Gabriela and Peppino Adamo of Ischia, Italy; two brothers, Larry Jewett of Lincoln, John Jewett of Dexter; a special sister-in-law, Carolyn “Callie” Connell of Hartland; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Phil’s request there will be no public visitation. Graveside committal services will be conducted 11 a.m. May 21, 2005, at the Rogers Cemetery in Troy.
