ELLSWORTH and CHARLESTON – Harriet A. (Lord) “Stanley” Duthie, 93, wife of the late George Duthie, died unexpectedly Jan. 29, 2007, at Ellsworth Hospital. She was born March 10, 1913, in Patten, the daughter of Henry and Dora (Ingerson) Lord. She was a resident of Ellsworth and recently joined the Unitarian Church. A former resident of Charleston, she was a former schoolteacher, teaching in many area towns and retiring from Central High School, Corinth in 1972. She had owned and operated a boarding home in Charleston for several years. She always enjoyed being a member of the Charleston Reading Group. She enjoyed traveling and at the age of 89, took a cross-country trip with her friend, Lorilie. She is survived by four sons, Wayne Stanley and his wife, Sadie, and Keith Stanley and his wife, Linda, all of Texas, Glenn Stanley of California, and Craig Stanley of Ellsworth; two surrogate sons, Glen Langlois of Washington, D.C., and Tom Dugan of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Peggy Betts and friend, Chet, of Ellsworth. Harriett was predeceased by two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jessica. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating. Spring burial will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth.
