PATTEN and EAST MILLINOCKET – Harriet L. Boynton, 91, entered into rest March 4, 2006, at a Patten healthcare facility. She was the devoted wife of Walter R. Boynton Sr. Mrs. Boynton was born April 3, 1914, in Glenwood, to the late John and Annie (Gass) Nolan. She was married to Walter Boynton in 1932, in East Millinocket. Harriet was a devoted wife and mother, caring for her five children. She enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles and especially talking and visiting with her many friends. Mrs. Boynton is survived by her husband of 73 years, Walter R. Boynton Sr.; her children, Walter R. Boynton and his wife, Janet, of East Millinocket, Anita Angotti and her husband, Frank, of Caribou, Robert F. Boynton of East Millinocket, Ralph D. Boynton of Lincoln and Cora Clay of East Millinocket. She also leaves her 10 loving grandchildren, Terry Vigue, Julie Fiske, Charlie Boynton, Jill Pelkey, David Angotti, Daniel Boynton, Grant Boynton, Aaron Boynton, Ruth Clay and Robin Clay; 10 great- grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Lula Hillier and Martha Elliot. Mrs. Boynton is predeceased by her siblings, Thelma Powers, Willam Nolan and Pearl Lakeman; and her special grandchildren, Karen Boynton and Scott Boynton. Friends are invited to greet the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, East Millinocket. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket, with Pastor Andrew MacLeod, officiating. Burial will be in the spring.
