BRADFORD, N.H. – Harry “Chip” Hasey III, 61, formerly of Hopkinton, N.H., passed away Sept. 26, 2006, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born July 27, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Harry E. Jr. and Pearl (Thompson) Hasey. Chip was educated in Bangor, graduating from the University of Maine, with a degree in business administration. From 1974 to 1976, Chip was co-captain for Governor’s Aircraft in Augusta. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and qualified as a plane commander in P-3 aircraft from 1968 to 1974. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, a Campaign Medal and an air medal. Chip spent more than 20 years in the electronics capital equipment industry as a sales manager and was most recently employed with Everett Charles Technology. Chip had a great love for his wife and family, cherishing the times they spent together. His grandchildren added such joy to his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature. He always made time for his friends and was the eternal optimist. He was a member of the Order of the Masons and the First Congregational Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sylvia (Lyons) Hasey; a son, Harry “Nic” and his wife, Marie Hasey and their two sons, Caleb and Carter; a daughter, Heather and her husband, Eric Hogancamp and their children, Austin and Hailey, all of Bradford, N.H.; sisters, Barbara Andrews and her husband, Tom, of Waynesburg, Pa., and Judy Nisbett of Monmouth; brothers, David Hasey of Youngstown, Ohio, and Richard and his wife, Jane Hasey, of Tewksbury, Mass.; and many extended family members. Chip will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The Hasey family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the staff and doctors at the D.M.H.M.C., for their diligent care. A celebration of Chip’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at First Congregational Church, Hopkinton, N.H., with the Rev. Gordon Crouch officiating. Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Henniker, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.
