BREWER – Harry M. Boucher, 91, died Sept. 20, 2006, at a Bangor health care center. He was born in Georgetown, the son of Wilbur S. and Fannie (Walsh) Boucher. Harry was married 51 years to Gretchen M. (Myers) Boucher and lived in Lubec, Five Islands and Brewer, where he had resided for the past 18 years. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard PT boats in the South Pacific. Some of his service was with PT-117, in the Solomon Islands, where he earned a Purple Heart in 1942 after being shot. He also associated with John F. Kennedy and his crew of the PT-109. Harry worked for many years with the civil service as a controller at the Cutler Radio Station, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC, Brewer; the Isaac E. Clewley VFW Post No. 4917, Brewer; the Joshua Chamberlain Chapter 1865; Military Order of the Purple Heart; and the Washington Lodge No. 37, AF & AM, Lubec. He also enjoyed his volunteer work with the Cole Land Transportation Museum. Surviving are four daughters, Debra Connor and her husband, Robert, of Winthrop, Judith Kidder and her husband, Ronald, of Brewer, Ena Teryek and her husband, John, of Clifton and Shirley Davis and Rudi Smith of Topsham; six grandchildren, Wade Teryek, Scot Teryek, Lynn Shanley and her husband, Tom, JoEna Donavan and her husband, Bob, Greg Davis and Steven Davis. Harry will be remembered by his special friend and companion, Beth Beal of Brewer; and special friends, Sally Buck and Trisha Dexter. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends may visit 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
