MILBRIDGE – Haskell Gilbert Brown, 83, went home to be with the Lord, Sept. 10, 2004, at an Ellsworth hospital after an extended illness. By his side were his sister, Marjorie, dear friends, Jeff and Sandy Beal, whom he considered his adopted children, and Pastor Ambrose Rolfe and his wife, Linda. Haskell was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Milbridge, the son of the late William R. and Helen V. (Shay) Brown. During his life, Haskell worked as a farmer, salesman for star beef, worked at Cherryfield Foods and was a night watchman for Wymans Blueberry Factory. He loved to make wood crafts, do upholstery work, gardening and selling his vegetables and flowers. Haskell had previously attended the Unionville Church of God. In later years, he became a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Milbridge. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Marion L. Brown, in May of 2002. He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Dolloff of Scarborough; nieces, Nancy Ellen Hart and her husband, David of Troy, N.H., Linda Haskin of Cape Cod, Mass., Faith Peel and her husband, Pete of Maineville, Ohio; special great-nieces and great- nephews, Jessica and Jason Hart, Pete Peel and his wife, Ning, and many other nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at the Faith Bible Fellowship church, Back Bay Rd., Milbridge. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Milbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Bible Fellowship Church, PO Box 177, Milbridge, ME 04658. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
