LITTLETON – Hazel A. Tingley, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 1, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Littleton, the daughter of Beecher and Rose (Lockhart) Hutchinson. Hazel was a devout Christian woman, who loved her Savior. She was a member of United Baptist Church of Little-ton, where she went to church all of her life and served on many committees, including chairman of the Love Gift Committee for more than 50 years. She loved missions and served on the state level with ABCOM. Hazel sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, worked with Guild Girls and many other organizations within the church, where she thought of the young people as her own. She was a prayer warrior and an example to everyone. She was grand chaplain for the state of Maine Order of the Eastern Star, a past matron and grand representative for Fidelity Chapter No. 32 and a member of Littleton Grange. Hazel worked lovingly alongside her husband of 45 years, Ralph, on the family farm in Littleton. Her family and friends meant a lot to her. She was a very thoughtful, devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Hazel is survived by her son, Gary Tingley and his wife, Nancy, of New Limerick; her daughter, June Malone and her husband, Darrell Sr., of Ludlow; five grandchildren, Gregory Tingley and his wife, Lena, of Limestone, Gerry Tingley and his friend, Beth, of Linneus, Gillian Tingley and her friend, David, of East Millinocket, Kara Wright and her husband, Randy, of Ludlow and Darrell Malone Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Oakfield; four great-grandchildren, Macy Cram, Reiley Wright, Cassie and Jakob Malone; two loving sisters, Jean McBride and Ruth Crone and her husband, Raymond, all of Houlton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Cedric and Emily Shaw. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ralph M. Tingley; one grandson, Geoffrey Tingely; sisters, Iva Henderson, Audrey Henderson, Lena Simpson and Mary Henderson; and brothers, Claude, Albert and Ronald Hutchinson. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Straubel officiating.
