TORRINGTON, Conn., and STONINGTON – Hazel G. Yurchick, 79, wife of the late William J. Yurchick, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at her home in Torrington. She was born June 15, 1924, on Swans Island, the daughter of Gardner and Laurel (Abbey) Bridges. Hazel enjoyed knitting. She is survived by three sons, Jerome Withee of Torrington, Conn., Chesley Yurchick of Blue Hill, and Michael Yurchick of Sedgwick; two daughters, Laurel Butler and Mary Blair, both of Overguard, Ariz.; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main St., Stonington, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. James Heard officiating. Spring interment will be at Mount Rest Cemetery, Stonington.
