MEDWAY – Helen E. Wood-White, 57, formerly of Chateaugay, N.Y. died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with ALS – Lou Gehrigs disease. Helen had been employed as a gate keeper for Baxter State Park, was an active member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation and very active with ALS Association Northern New England Chapter. She enjoyed camping, fly-fishing and observation of wildlife, especially eagles. She was predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Gertrude Tebo Bessey of New York. Helen is survived by her husband, Bruce White of Medway; three children, Tammie Trombley and her husband, Jerry, Wray Wood and Thomas Wood and his wife, Jennifer; three sisters, one brother, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of New York. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 25, at St. Peters Catholic Church, North Street, East Millinocket. Luncheon to follow at St. Peters Parish.
