HELEN G. YOUNG BANGOR – Helen G. Young, 91, wife of the late Joseph A. Young, died at her home in Bangor, Oct. 31, 2003. She was born in Fairfield, April 30, 1912, the daughter of Percy and Grace Ella (Heath) Sabine. She had formerly been employed as a supervisor at the Striar Textile Mill of Orono. Surviving are two sons, Percy Young and his wife, Joan, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Bernard Young and his wife, Cecelia, of Guilford, Conn.; one daughter, Cecelia Brown and her husband, Robert, of Bangor; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Ricky and Greg Young; one great-grand-daughter, Terry Young; two sisters, Alice Taylor and Irene Bickford; two brothers, Percy Sabine and Leroy Sabine. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the funeral mass Monday.
