BANGOR – Maxine Seavey, 90, wife of the late Robert F. “Bob” Seavey, died Dec. 8, 2006, at her home. She was born July 25, 1916, in Bangor, daughter of Annie (Graham) and Harry A. Skillin. Maxine graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1933 and was a 1937 graduate of Gilman Commercial School. She worked at the Bangor Daily Commercial, where she met her husband of 63 years, Bob Seavey. Maxine was an active member of Hammond Street Congregational Church, the Stearns Circle and was a corporator of the Phillip Strickland House. Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor M. and Roberta A., both of Bangor; two special nieces, Judith L. Skillin of Ohio and Nancy J. Skillin of Massachussets; two special nephews, D. Michael Skillin of Massachussets and Mark C. Skillin of Connecticut. Friends may call 7-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Hammond Street Congregational Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Allen Doty, minister, officiating.
