HARTFORD, CONN. – Helen (Powers) Violette, was reunited with her beloved husband, John, on May 18, 2004, in Hartford, Conn. She was born in Presque Isle and had lived in Sinclair for many years. Her faith was her greatest comfort. Family was her greatest joy. It was her strength, energy and commitment that kept them together. Mrs. Violette had taught first grade in Van Buren before she had children; was a member of the Sinclair Senior Center, Sinclair; and had worked for many years at Dahl and Johnson in West Hartford, Conn. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anna Violette of West Hartford, Conn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Louis Bussa of So. Glastonbury, Conn.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Karen and Herman Fierro of Oregon, Michael and Barbara Violette of So. Windsor, Conn., David and Jenifer Bussa, Douglas and Karen Bussa, all of Glastonbury, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Griffin and Rachel Violette, Emily Fierro; three step-great-grandchildren, Jason and Darryl Elam, Jessica Harris; an aunt, Sr. Mary Theophile in the Figi Islands; and a special niece, Joan Logan of Houlton. She was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Friday, at St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury, Conn. The burial will be private in St. Bruno Cemetery, Van Buren. The family would like to thank Dr. John McArdle for his assistance in dealing with Helen’s illness and the staff at Hartford Hospital for the compassionate care they gave her and the family. The Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, West Hartford, is assisting the family.
