MATTAWAMKEAG – Helen R. Merrill, 87, died Sept. 22, 2006, at a Millinocket nursing home. She was born June 3, 1919, in Burlington, the daughter of James H. and Harriet (Jipson) Powers. Helen liked to knit, gardening and flowers. She worked at the Bon Ton Restaurant and for Forster Manufacturing. She is survived by her children, Emily Crocker and her husband, Robert, of Lee, Arnold Perry and his wife, Kathy, of Charleston, Willard Perry of East Millinocket, Robert Perry of Mattawamkeag and Caroly Ireland and her husband, Galen, of Lincoln; stepchildren, Vera Randazzo and her husband, Sal, and Erwin Perry and his wife, Jeanette; a brother, James Powers; a sister, Charlotte Mailman; and daughters-in-law, Sadie Perry and Barbara Perry. She was predeceased by her husbands, Charles Perry and Perley Merrill; a son, Eugene Perry; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Powers, Roland Powers, Richard Powers, John Powers, Carroll Powers, Phillip Powers, Louise Robichaud and Rita Boutaugh. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Johnstone officiating.
