FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Helen T. McDougal, 89, wife of the late Perley J. McDougal, died Jan. 2, 2004, at a Newburyport, Mass. hospital, following a brief illness. She was born June 5, 1914, at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Guy E. and Elizabeth (Stewart) Taylor. Mrs. McDougal was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Salon for many years, was a member of the United Parish Church, Fort Fairfield and a member of the United Parish Women. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Nelson and Warren Taylor; a son, Perley J. McDougal Jr. She is survived by a brother, Paul Taylor of Warwick, R.I.; son, Robert McDougal of Caribou; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and James Lane of Georgetown, Mass., Patricia and James Mitchell of Cuba, Ill.; grandsons, Sean Lane and his wife, Ann Marie, of Malden, Mass., Christopher Lane of New Orleans, La.; great-granddaughter, Amanda Lane; and great-grandson, Sean Ernest Lane, both of Malden, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Helen B. McDougal of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at the United Parish Church, 4 Church St., Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Diane Langworthy officiating. Spring interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held at the United Parish Church Vestry, immediately following the funeral service.
