BAR HARBOR – Helena Elaine (Gott) Higgins, 87, died Aug. 2, 2007, at a Hancock health care facility. She was born March 22, 1920, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Clyde S. and Vivian (Webber) Gott. She attended Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor schools. She was a graduate of Pemetic High School and Becker College, Worcester, Mass. Helena worked for the Bar Harbor Public Health & Nursing Association for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Savior’s Episcopal Church and was active in St. Anna’s Altar Guild. She is survived by her son, David Higgins and his wife, Donna Walls, of Otter Creek; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three nieces. Helena was predeceased by her husband, John R. Higgins Sr.; her children, John R. Jr., Kenneth and Patricia; and by her sister, Onnolee. Friends are invited to call 3:30-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Savior’s Episcopal Church, Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Edwin A. Garrett III officiating. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
