BRIDGEWATER – Henrietta B. Bradstreet, 88, wife of the late Dan Bradstreet, passed away peacefully Oct. 31, 2007, at her home after a long illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Bridgewater, the daughter of Fred and Ruby (Black) Rideout. Henrietta was a life-long resident of Bridgewater, attended Bridgewater schools and was a graduate of Presque Isle Normal School. She taught kindergarten in the Bridgewater school system for many years, retiring in 1979. Henrietta was a member of Bridgewater Extension and was presented an award in 1982 by the Aroostook County Extension Association for outstanding homemaker. She was also a member of Bridgewater Senior Citizens and Bridgewater Free Baptist Church. She enjoyed making quilts, embroidery and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She is survived by a son, Wayne Bradstreet and his wife, Mavis; a daughter, Diana Bradstreet, all of Bridgewater; six grandchildren, Ryan Bradstreet and his wife, Wendy, of Bridgewater, Julie Sanborn and her husband, Cory, of Waterville, Alan Bradstreet and his wife, Melissa, of Michigan, Shawn Bradstreet of New Jersey, Shane Bradstreet of Portland and Lance Bradstreet of New York; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Rideout of Blaine; a sister-in-law, Betty Rideout of Hermon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years; three brothers, Clair, Ralph and Earl Rideout; a sister, Vinca Maskewich; and a very special great-granddaughter, Megan Bradstreet. The family expresses appreciation to Hospice of Aroostook personnel for their compassionate, caring, and special thanks to Michelle Delong for the loving care she provided. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater, with Pastor Robert Vaughn officiating.
