HENRY F. MCBURNIE VEAZIE – Henry F. McBurnie, 88, also known as “Mac,” died Aug. 29, 2006, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Bangor, the son of Margaret Mary and Roy McBurnie. He graduated from John Bapst High School in 1936. He attended Beal Business College. He worked at the Bangor Box Co. in Brewer until 1941. He went on to aircraft school in Rome, N.Y., and went to work at Presque Isle Air Force Base and became foreman of the hydraulic systems throughout World War II. On July 30, 1945, he was married to his wife, Jeanne, two weeks before World War II ended. He returned to work at the Bangor Box Co. until 1947, when he went to work for H.P. Snowman, a printing and rubber stamp business in Bangor, where he was employed for more than 20 years. He acquired the business in 1969, and owned and operated it until 1979, when he sold the business and retired. He was as member of The Lions Club and served on the Mount Pleasant Cemetery board. He is predeceased by a brother, Edward; and a sister, Carolyn Nestor. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne McBurnie; his nieces, Deborah Flynn, Brenda Roberge, Cheryl St. Aubin and Rhonda Hillman; along with several cousins. The family expresses their appreciation for the kindness and professional care “Mac” received at Westgate Manor. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Farley, celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
