ANAHEIM, Calif., QUARTSITE, Ariz., and PATTEN – Herbert B. Winship Sr., 78, passed away Oct. 19, 2006. Herb was a retired machinist. He was a past noble grand of the Oddfellows, a Mason and a member of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed traveling and camping and is now on the greatest journey of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; sons, Charlie and Bruce Winship, Joseph and Kenneth Curtis, Philip and Stephen Williams and Frank McLeod; daughter, Rhonda Upton; brothers, Edwin and Parker Winship; sisters, Pauline Bryan, Barbara Carlson, Marion Hertz and Joyce Hunter; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Paula Nora; and son, Herbert Winship Jr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m., conducted by Katahdin Lodge No. 96, Patten. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating. Interment will be at Patten Cemetery.
