BANGOR – Herbert E. Reed Jr., 56, died unexpectedly Dec. 25, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1950, in Bangor, a son of Herbert E. and Annie May (Prouty) Reed Sr. He attended St. John’s grammar school, John Bapst High School and Beal College. Herbert was employed by the City of Bangor Public Works Department for 36 years. He was a Harley fan, avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed his camp at Beech Hill Pond. Survivors include two sisters, Arlene M. Brown of California, and Margaret E. Goode of Bangor; special nieces and nephews, Mary-Ann Brown, Doris Irene York and John Kenneth Goode, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Harry Chambers Jr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor of St. Marys Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
