HERMON – Sarah Marie Gordet, 24, died Dec. 25, 2006, surrounded by family at her home. She was born Dec. 14, 1982, in Dunedin, Fla., the daughter of Patricia and Morris Gordet. Sarah lived in New Port Richey, Fla., until age 10. She then moved to Maine with her family. Sarah was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Bangor. She lived in Levant and Hermon and attended Hermon Middle School and graduated from Hermon High School in 2003. Sarah loved school and had many friends. She loved movies, music, dancing, her pets, cooking, playing basketball, helping people and traveling. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching them win the World Series. Sarah was a warm and loving girl who lit up the room with her smile. Her love of others was felt by all who knew her and she will be remembered for the love she brought to all her family members and many friends. She was a devoted daughter and her mom’s best friend. She enjoyed summer nights on the Bangor waterfront and at Turtle Head. In addition to her parents, Sarah is survived by her brother, David Riker of Brewer, who she dearly loved; aunts and uncles, Ellen and John Hennessy of Queens, N.Y., Betty Ann and Bob Brown of Davenport, Fla., James and Carolyn McLaughlin of Dedham, numerous cousins; her friend, Betty Ann Thurlow of Hampden; and a special friend, singer and movie actress, Hilary Duff, who often telephoned Sarah. Sarah was predeceased by a brother, Paul James; and her maternal grandparents, James and Hildred (Dupray) McLaughlin, several aunts and uncles. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Johns Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
