GREENVILLE – Herbert K. Hyland Sr., 96, died July 19, 2007, at C.A. Dean Nursing Home, Greenville. He was born Oct. 15, 1910, in Coventry, Vt., son of Charles and Lena (Gorham) Hyland. He worked in the local area for many of the local businesses, until his retirement at age 84. He loved the outdoors, gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Maryanne (Annance) Hyland of Greenville; three daughters, Ruth McNeal of Greenville, Kay and her husband, Charles Brown, of Abbot and Francine and her husband, Scott Roy, of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Hyland of Greenville Junction; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Janet Hyland of Connecticut, Bernadette Annance of Greenville and Bytha Hyland of Greenville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Herbert Jr.; a daughter, Lena Barriault; a sister, Florence Elliott; three brothers, George, Bernard, and Cecil; two grandchildren; and a special son-in-law, Charlie McNeal. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, at the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, at the Masonic building, Greenville, with the Rev. Richard Malo officiating.
