BANGOR – Herbert Litwack, 81, died May 2, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in New York, the son of Irving and Fanny (Kummer) Litwack. He was a graduate of St. John’s University, N.Y. Mr. Litwack served in the U.S. Army in the military government in Germany during World War II. He worked for many years for the New York State Department of Labor. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Litwack; one daughter, Beth Litwack, both of Bangor; two sons, Robert Litwack of Richmond, Va.; William Litwack and his wife, Jane, of Bangor; three grandchildren, Emily Litwack of Israel, Daniel Litwack and Joseph Litwack, both of Bangor; one brother, Jerome Litwack of New York. He was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Litwack. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Beth Abraham Cemetery.
