BUCKSPORT – Herbert P. Kenny III, 49, died June 12, 2004, at his home in Bucksport. He was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Bangor, the son of Herbert and Rosella (Stevens) Kenny II. Herb liked going for long rides in his car and watching Nascar on TV His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was an avid football fan, following the Miami Dolphins for many years. He enjoyed the summer months when he could go camping with his family. Herb is survived by his wife, Jane (Bourgoyne) Kenny of Bucksport; six children, Jenny L. Ellis of Bucksport, Charmaine M. Young of Ellsworth, Melanie K. Jordan of Bucksport, Herbert Peter Kenny IV and his wife, Melinda, of Milford, Scott Alexander and his wife, Kim, of Orrington, and Stephanie Dempsey and her husband, Richard, of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jared, Autumn, Macey, Adam, Mikaela, Brooke and Nathan; one brother, Larry Kenny Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Stetson; four sisters, Paulette Wright and her husband, Gene, of Winterport, Cindy Kenny of Hampden, Brenda Lee Pellon and her husband, David, of Hampden, and Katrina Chandler and her husband, David, of Bangor; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend, Michael Cushman of Bangor; and his cat, Bird. He was predeceased by his father in 1963; his mother in 1987; his brother, Kenneth W. Kenny, in 1959; and stepfather, Lloyd D. Leighton, in 1995. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
