ORLAND and BUCKSPORT Herbert “Weldon” Gray, 86, died Nov. 28, 2007, in Blue Hill. He was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Blue Hill, the son of Morton C. and Laura F. (Candage) Gray. Herbert was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He enjoyed country music, going to the Bucksport Senior Citizen’s Center and to his camp on Jacob Buck Pond. He was also very fond of gardening. He is survived by his wife, Georgia I. Gray of Verona Island; his two children, Pat Favors and Nancy Hooper, both of South Carolina; one brother, Arnold and his wife, Irene Gray, of Holden; one sister, Arline Locke of Bucksport; four stepchildren, Sandra Potter of Orland, Audrey Benzinis of Penobscot, Glendon Bevan of Verona Island and Wayne Bevan of Churchville, N.Y.; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held noon Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Bucksport Senior Citizen’s Center, 125 Broadway, Box 200, Bucksport, ME 04416.
