ROQUE BLUFFS – Horace “Babe” L. Preston Jr., 74, passed away Nov. 5, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sherrill L. Preston; eight children and their families; six brothers, three sisters and their families; and many grandchildren, great-grand-children, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Samuel Preston; and his parents, Horace Preston, Sr. and Minnie (Morse) Preston. The family would like to give special thanks to Sharon Worcester. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Great Cove Cemetery in Roque Bluffs. Memorial contributions may be made in Babe’s memory to the Maine Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 553, Portland, ME 04112. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
