BANGOR – Howard F. Jenkins, 91, died May 12, 2005, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor. He was born March 23, 1914, in Northeast Harbor, the son of Ruth Hedges. He graduated from Gilman High School. After high school, he worked in the Bath shipyard. He joined the Army during World War II and served in the Philippines. He is survived by his son, Duane and wife, Ruth; grandson, Ted and friend, Lisa; great-grandson, Jesse; sister-in-law, Jennie; nieces, Nancy Clark and Ida Smalledge. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth; wife, Dorothy; and brothers, Roy and Ted. Howard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandson. At Howard’s request, there will be no services. Donations may be made to the Northeast Nursing Association.
