FRENCHVILLE and CARIBOU – Ida (Greenier) Poitras, wife of the late Preston Poitras, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, of an acute illness. Ida was the daughter of William and Matilda (Soucy) Greenier of Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada. Ida was an excellent caring aunt to all her nieces and nephews, they always came first in her life even when she was working full-time as a potato processing worker she always had time to put smiles on their faces. Ida is survived by one brother, Adrian Greenier of Enfield, Conn.; a sister, Dorothy Grodin and family of Chatham, N.B., Canada; a sister, Loretta and her husband, Paul Watson, of Largo, Fla.; godchildren, Paul and Benjamin Watson of Caribou; nieces, Edna Watson and children, Paul, Michele, Matthew, Susan, Margaret of Caribou, Madeline Cameron and children of Toronto, Canada, Betty and husband, Curtis Johnston and children of Kentucky, Dorothy and her husband, Joe Ginzel and children of Kansas, Barbara and her husband, Peter Craig, of Lewiston, Patsy Zelondex of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, Marilyn and her husband, Joe Koskelowsky of Connecticut, Judy and her husband, Tom Loeb and children of Illinois; nephews, Danny Zelondex and son, Zeb of Fredericton, N.B., Canada, Teddy Zelondex and wife, Marie Paul Zelondex and children of Edmunston, N.B., Canada, Paul and Patsy Poitras and children of Limestone; a special cousin, Yvonne Anderson of Caribou; very special and caring friends and great-niece, Dora (Dubois) Smith of Soldier Pond, Shawna (Gagnon) Dechaine of Madawaska, Michele Gagnon of Madawaska, Alma D. Gagnon and Pauline Belanger of Frenchville. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Preston Poitras; three brothers, Henry Greenier, Pious Greenier, Claude Greenier; five brothers-in-law, John Zelondex Sr. of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, John Roberts of Brewer, Frank Cote of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, Anthony Grodin of Chatam, N.B., Canada, Oscar Poitras of Limestone; six sisters, Rose Zelondex of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, Gertrude Melinken of Toronto, Canada, Anna Greenier of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, Alice (Greenier) Roberts of Brewer, Lilly (Greenier) Cote of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada, Edna Greenier of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada; nephews, Gerald Watson of Caribou, John Zelondex Jr. of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada; niece, Ruth Zelondex of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada. A very special thank you to all the nurses and CNAs and Mr. Daigle at St. Joseph Nursing Home and Dr. Harris of Fort Kent. There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Chanel Cyr officiating. Burial will be held at St. Louis Cemetery at a later date due to cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Nursing Home, Frenchville or to the American Red Cross, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Funeral arrangements are under Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.
