HANCOCK – Ida Jane Kane, 64, died June 5, 2006, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Ellsworth, the daughter of William and Grace Brown. Ida was the loving mother and grandmother of six children and nine grandchildren. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph of Hancock; sons, Joseph Kane Jr. of Meriden, Conn., Paul Kane of Winsted, Conn.; daughters, Susan Lavigne and husband, Bernie, of Southington, Conn., Tammy Murdoch, Donna Kane, both of Meriden, Conn., Judy Pinto and husband, John, of Plantsville, Conn.; brother, Fred Brown of Meriden, Conn.; and a dear friend, Betty. Calling hours will be held 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
