FORT FAIRFIELD and MADAWASKA – Irene E. Bohan, 99, wife of the late Walter T. Bohan, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at a Madawaska nursing facility, after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 2, 1908, in Maplehurst, New Brunswick, the daughter of John and Delia (McDougal) Golder. She attended school in Maplehurst, New Brunswick, and was married to Walter T. Bohan, Sept. 21, 1947. Irene had been a member of Celebration Center, Fort Fairfield, for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bohan was predeceased by her husband in 1982; two sons, Bernard Craine and Robert Bohan; one daughter, Jean Oliver; six brothers, Roy, Fred-rick, Herbert, Guy, Elmer and Allen Golder; and two sisters, Ida Turney and Mary DeMerchant. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Joyce Bohan of Peachtree City, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Charleen and Glenn Pidgeon of Old Town; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Celebration Center, Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the funeral service at Celebration Center reception area. Spring interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Bohan to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
