HERMON – Irene Esther Light, 88, wife of the late Kenneth W. Light Sr., died May 6, 2004, at a Brewer Healthcare Center. She was born March 16, 1916, in Levant, the daughter of Elmer and Doris (Hammond) Jellison. Irene was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Hermon Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, bowling, the Red Sox and especially her family and home. Survivors include one son, Kenneth W. Light II of Hermon; one daughter, Dianne Stevenson and husband, Duane, of Amherst; one granddaughter, Laurie Rice and husband, Craig, of Amherst; two grandsons, Duane Stevenson of Aurora, Gene Stevenson of Portland, Ore.; five great-grandchildren, Aric, Crystal and Cole Stevenson, Joel Rice, Craig Rice and wife, Barbara; two great-great-grandchildren, Cody and Carter Rice; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Hamm and Florence Scripture. Irene’s family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. Private interment will be in the family lot Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
