FORT KENT – Irene Hebert, 85, died peacefully among family and friends, Feb. 12, 2005, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 17, 1919, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Patrick and Alvina (Marquis) Bourgoin. She belonged to the Ladies of Anne of Fort Kent and is a past member of the Fort Kent Columbiettes. Among her many hobbies she enjoyed crocheting and was always giving of herself to her family. She will be dearly missed. Irene is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wilfred Hebert Sr. of Fort Kent; three sons, Wilfred Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Latham, N.Y., Harold and his wife, Rinette, of Fort Kent, Gerald and his wife, Pauline, of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; three daughters, Doris and her husband, Richard Daigle, of Schuylerville, N.Y., Geneva and her husband, Roland Dube, of Latham, N.Y., Linda and her husband, Philip Gagnon, of Fort Kent; three sisters, Ida Roy of Van Buren, Yvonne Gravel of Bristol, Conn., and Eva Chasse of East Millinocket. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and 19 foster children. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Onezime Bourgoin in 1997. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent and 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery, May 18, 2005. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Louis Renovation Fund, 11 E.
