LUBEC – Irene M. Sheehan, 90, died June 25, 2008, at a Lubec nursing home. She was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Lubec, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Hiltz) Morrison. Irene was a graduate of Lubec High School, Class of 1935. She continued her education in business administration through the American Technical Society and worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper in various offices. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lubec. She was a confraternity of Christian doctrine instructor for many years. She was a member of the women’s council, and was active throughout her life in social and fundraising activities for the church. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Charles W. Sheehan, in 1991; and a sister, Pauline M. Lewis, in 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Theresa Kelley of Bangor; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Chad Kelley of Bangor; a sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Roland Cheney of Lubec; a sister-in-law, Louise Orlando of Holly Hill, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will lovingly be remembered for her positive outlook on life, her “silly” sayings and songs, and the love and friendship that she shared and treasured with many. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lubec, with the Very Rev. Mark Nollette, celebrant. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will be after at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lubec.
