LINCOLN and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Irene Olive Lancaster, 81, wife of the late Simon Lancaster, died Aug 20, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Lincoln, the daughter of Millard William and Christie Ida (Shorey) Haynes. Irene worked at JJ Newberry Store, Lincoln, and spent 36 years as a nurse at Lincoln Hospital and at Penobscot Valley Hospital. She also worked at Eastern Fine Paper and Standard Packaging. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Dale L. Lancaster and Claire of Manchester, N.H., and Dana E. Lancaster and Vanessa of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Beth Ann Beekey, Jill Marie Lancaster, and Matthew Scott Lancaster; her sister, Jeanette Wilson, whose very faithful care for Irene during her last days is very much appreciated by her boys; two brothers, Don Haynes and Millard Haynes Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
