FRENCHVILLE – Irene Tardif, 79, died Feb. 10, 2004, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Stockholm, the daughter of Fortuna and Phoebe (Thibeault) Lavoie. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She is survived by her husband, Alverie; four sons, Louis and his wife, Jean, of Wolcott, Conn., Gerald and special friend, Joyce, Carlton, Alvin and his wife, Debbie, all of Frenchville; five daughters, Mary Ann and her husband, Nick Tanguay, of Fort Kent, Louise and her husband, Camille Duval, of Tennessee, Helen and her husband, Roland, of Virginia, Evelyn of Madawaska, and Sandra and special friend, Rolland Carrier of Frenchville, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Walter Lavoie and his wife, Cecile, of Frenchville, Leo Lavoie of St. Agatha, Adrien Lavoie and his wife, Lucille, of Madawaska, Roger Lavoie and his wife, Suzanne, of New Britain, Conn.; five sisters, Germaine Tardif of Madawaska, Elsie and her husband, Leo Raymond of Florida, Yvette and her husband, Raymond Lizotte, of Frenchville, Patsy and her husband, Fern Dionne and Lynn and her husband, Rudy Mercure, both of Florida. She was predeceased by one daughter, Gloria; and two sons, Russell and Joseph and one brother, Roland. Friends and relatives may call at the Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville, 7-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004 and 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Luce Catholic Church with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Burial will be held in the spring.
