BERNARD – Irvin R. Pinchetti, 88, died Nov. 29, 2007, at an Ellsworth health care facility. He was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Barre, Vt., the son of Eugenio and Madeline (Vernetti) Pinchetti. Irvin graduated from Spaulding High School, Barre, Vt., in 1937 and Cal Aero Technical Institute, Glendale, Calif. In 1953 he married Rosamond Benson of Bernard and they lived in Windsor and West Hartford, Conn., before moving to Bernard in 1981. In Connecticut he worked for 40 years as a test inspector and quality control engineer at Chandler Evans Corp. Irvin was active in the Tremont community serving on the Tremont Planning Board, trustee of Tremont Congregational Church, secretary for the larger parish council, charter member of Mount Desert Island Kiwanis, where he was secretary for many years and was a volunteer at Bass Harbor Memorial Library. Irvin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosamond of Bernard; brother, Gildo A. Pinchetti and wife, Vilma, of Barre, Vt.; special nephew, Ronald Frascoia and wife, Dolores; nephews, Scott, Donald, David, Michael, Alan and Paul; and niece, Renee. He was predeceased by a sister, Levia Frascoia; teenage brother, Guerino; and infant brother, Aldo. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Tremont Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Buchanan officiating. Interment will be at Benson Cemetery.
