OKEECHOBEE, FLA. and OLD TOWN – Irvin Thomas Buchanan died Dec. 31, 2004, in Okeech-obee. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Old Town, a son of Edward and Delcina Buchanan. Irvin served his country during World War II as a member of the First Allied Airborne Division. He was a member of the Okeechobee VFW Post and a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Irvin was the owner of Buchanan Builders Inc. for 25 years. In addition to his wife, Susane Buchanan of Okeechobee; he is survived by two sons, Michael A. Buchanan and wife, Nancy, of Lake Worth, Fla., Thomas I. Buchanan and wife, Mary Lou, of Bradley; grandchildren, Shawn T. Buchanan and fianc?e, Annie, of Birmingham, Ala., Daniel M. Buchanan and his wife, Natasha, of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Phylis MacMillan and husband, Granville, Mary Holohan and Avis Jean McCulloch. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Hope (Harris) Buchanan; a sister, Esther Rafferty; brothers, Charles, Richard, Willard, Robert and Paul Buchanan; a grandson, Thomas “Baby Tommy” Buchanan. Irvin will be sadly missed by his pal, Sam. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2005 in Old Town, with interment at the family lot St. Joseph’s Cemetery, at a date to be announced by Foley Funeral Service, Bangor.
