MADISON – Irving “Johnny” Green, 90, of Madison passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 9, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Madison, a son of John and Etta Chase Green. He was married to Margaret Jones in 1941. For many years he was employed as a weaver and loom fixer in the woolen mills in Dexter and Corinna. He was a proud member of the Masons Penobscot Lodge No. 39 and St. Johns chapter, Demo lay Commandery and a Knight Templar in Skowhegan and past member of the state guard 103rd Infantry Co. L in Skowhegan. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Jones Green in 1994. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Carrolin) Nelson of Bronson, Fla. and Mrs. David (Shelia) Moore of Skowhegan; three sons, Leland Green and his wife, Gloria, of North Anson, Linwood “Lennie,” “OD” Green and wife, Tina, of Madison and Thomas Green and wife, Paige, of Skowhegan, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. There will be a small graveside service for family in the spring. Those who desire may give a donation in his memory to the charity of your choice.
