FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and GREENVILLE – Isabel Moore, 77, died unexpectedly Jan. 31, 2005, at her home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was born May 27, 1927, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., the daughter of Saunders L. Meade and Isabel (Dolan) Meade. She was a descendant of General George Gordon Meade of Civil War fame. Isabel grew up in the West Chester, Pa., area, graduating from West Chester High School in 1946. In 1949, she married Donald W. Moore and they lived in the Marshallton area until the early 70’s. They later wintered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and returned each summer to their camp on the shores of Moosehead Lake. Isabel and Donald loved to travel. During their years together they were able to visit Europe, Africa, South America and China. After the death of her husband in 1999, Isabel continued to travel taking several cruises with her friend, Ellen, and finally visiting Alaska with Jock and Cathy in 2002. During the 1960’s Isabel was an avid horsewoman and an active member of the West Chester Hunt Club. She was a lifetime box holder at the Devon Horse Show in Devon, Pa., where she enjoyed the events and visits with longtime friends during her stay. During her summers at camp on Moosehead Lake she delighted in going out for dinner, boating on the lake and feeding her chipmunks. She was a longtime member of the Moosehead Lake Yacht Club. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Donald W. Moore. She is survived by four children, Jock Moore and his wife, Cathy Sweetser, of Beaver Cove, Saunders “Sandy” Moore and his wife, Suzanne, of West Chester, Pa., Susan D. Moore and partner, Bradley Taylor, of Guilford and Isabel Brooke Moore of Skowhegan; also by five grandchildren, Saunders M. Moore II, Kristopher C. Folsom, Matthew H. Moore, Chelsea E. Folsom and Sara L. Moore. Funeral services will be held at the DellaVecchia, Reilly & Smith Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St., West Chester, Pa. Interment will be beside her husband at the Bradford Cemetery, Marshallton, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester County Hospital Foundation, 701 East Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380 or to the Moosehead Marine Museum, P.O.
