BANGOR and ELLSWORTH Isabelle J. McKenney, 92, died Feb. 1, 2008, at her residence in Bangor. She was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Bangor, the daughter of Adelbert M. and Hulda (Graves) Kelley. Isabelle owned and operated with her husband for 25 years, Western Auto Store, Ellsworth. She was a member of the Sunshine Club for Children. Isabelle has fond memories of the times she spent in Florida during the winter months and the many friends she had there. After her husbands passing, she learned to play bridge in Florida, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Gaspar and husband, Del, of Ellsworth; a daughter-in-law, Judy McKenney of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Theresa Whitmore, Wayne Gaspar and Robert McKenney, all of Ellsworth, and Beth Ruhlin of Orrington; several great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. McKenney; her son, Charles McKenney; a sister and two brothers. Friends are invited to call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
